To protect personal data during check-in, essentry offers a Privacy Mode that hides characters on the kiosk display while users are entering sensitive information, similar to entering a password. This prevents nearby guests from reading personal entries.
What is Privacy Mode?
When Privacy Mode is enabled, text input fields on the kiosk are visually masked (e.g. shown as dots or hidden characters) while the guest is typing.
This is especially useful in high-traffic or open reception areas.
How to enable Privacy Mode
Privacy Mode is configured per location.
Steps
Log in to essentry Dashboard
Navigate to Company > Locations
Select the relevant location

How Privacy Mode looks on the kiosk
When Privacy Mode is active, entered characters are hidden on the screen to protect sensitive information from being viewed by others nearby. You can see an example of what this looks like, on the kiosk, below.
