Access Credentials Import

How can I import multiple access credentials?

During the initial setup, you will likely need to add a large number of access credentials to the system. To make this easier, essentry allows you to bulk import lists of these credentials.

What should the access media list look like?

You need a list in .xlsx or .csv format for the import (see attachment). Assign names to the individual columns and ensure that each access credential includes the following information:

  • Card Number ACS / Access Control System
  • Card Number Kiosk
  • Card Number Reception
  • Card Type (optional, and only if configured in the system)

Columns that are not relevant to essentry can remain in the document – they will simply be ignored during the import. Additionally, a unique identifier should be selected: if the system finds a card with a number matching an entry in this column, it will perform an update instead.

How do I import the list?

  1. Go to the "Company" section in the dashboard and then to "Access Credentials".
  1. Click "Bulk Import" above the list.
  1. Select the file containing the access media and choose a unique identifier.
  1. Click “Upload File”.
  1. Assign the fields from your file to the corresponding essentry fields (Card Number ACS, Card Number Kiosk, Card Number Reception, optionally Card Type).
  1. Click "Next" to process the data.
  1. Review the changes to be performed. If existing credentials are detected, the necessary changes will be highlighted.
  1. If the list is correct, click "Import X Access Credentials".

The access media will now be created in the system.
