Can I use other brands of Thermal Paper in the kiosk?

Our standard solution for Thermal Paper is custom manufactured, doing so ensures quality and functionality within our system. That being said, there are other commercially available Thermal Paper rolls that can be made to work. It's important that the paper has a width between 62 and 64mm and supports thermal printing. Other formats are currently not supported.

This article will go over the use of Brother 62mm x 30.48m LBDK-22205 thermal paper rolls in the kiosk.

Attention: The LBDK-22205 has a different winding, where the thermally active section is facing the core. As opposed to our standard paper, where the thermally active section is facing away from the core. They will have a slightly different loading arrangement in the kiosk.

We do not recommend purchasing this type, as there are ones available without the carrier assembly. Instructions for removal of the assembly below.

Loading the LBDK-22205 paper rolls into a Kiosk

The process of loading the LBDK-22205 paper rolls into the printer is broadly the same as loading our standard paper. The only thing to keep in mind is the orientation, in the end the thermally active part of the paper needs to be facing up. Below are the normal instructions for changing paper rolls.

Open the paper holder and insert the paper from the rear.

Please ensure that the paper is not lying on but next to the adjustable guide rail.

Close all flaps securely. The printer will automatically align the paper to the correct position for the next print job.

Removing the Black Plastic Carrier Assembly

While we recommend purchasing thermal paper rolls that do not include the carrier assembly, it is possible to remove without too much effort. There is only one  screw holding the assembly together.

Removing this screw will free the paper roll from the assembly.
