In this post, we will show you what happens when the essentry kiosk detects an invalid ID document.
There are three possible scenarios:
- ID document does not belong to the person (or cannot be clearly identified).
Check-in continues and is completed normally. In the reception view with the guest details, a warning is displayed that the ID does not match the person.
In this case, you should decide whether the guest should be allowed to enter the site or the process should be repeated with a different ID document. If necessary, the security service can be called in.
- ID not genuine / could not be recognized (forged, dirty).
If the badge is not recognized at the first attempt, the guest will be asked to clean the document, check for possible visual damage and repeat the process. If the error occurs again, check-in will be performed normally and a warning will be displayed at the reception desk.
- ID has expired
Check-in is completed normally. A warning is displayed in the reception view with the guest's details that the badge has expired.
The decision to allow access is up to you.
If a location does not have a front desk or the process is not appropriate for your check-in, the process can be customized through essentry support.
